Enniskillen - nice town but could be a bit closer to the surf |
| Surfing since: | 1996, holy toledo, I really should be a bit better at it by now |
| Boat(s) currently surfing: | I paddle a surfkayak that a friend (Graeme) and I developed together. It was a lot of work but we were pretty pleased with the result; a very rewarding experience |
| How did you start surfing: |
At work - training to be a surf and kayak instructor. Yes I did get paid, just about. |
| Surfing competitively since: |
Competition sucks, I have way more fun since I stopped |
| Competition strategy: | Have fun - You only need to change your strategy if your not enjoying yourself |
| Surfing ambitions: | I always wanted to get my hair cut like BA Baracus but I think I've left it too late, in fact I now have a reverse BA :-( |
| Main surf breaks: | Spot L, Tullan, anywhere from Easky to Portrush |
| Favourite surf break: | Anywhere that's good, reefs are great, beaches are hard work |
| People I surf with the most: | Kooks - the lot of them. No, I'm really lucky to surf with some great people and some world class surfkayakers, some are even both ;-) |
| Favourite moves: | I'd like to say big top turns but there's something really satisfying about carving round a really good, fast, smooth roundhouse cutback... once I start doing them I just can't stop, the feeling is addictive |
